Jackie Florian

Jackie Florian, Program Assistant

Jacqueline Florian was born in Guatemala city and moved to Portland, Oregon when she was four years old. Her family eventually settled down in Tricities, Washington. She grew up being incredibly close to her teachers. It was Jacqueline’s second grade teacher that made her realize she wanted to become an elementary school teacher; in hopes to one day impact a child like she impacted her. She graduated with her Associates Degree from Pacific Northwest Christian College on May 2020. She is currently a first generation student at WSU Pullman. Jacqueline has been part of incredible children ministries such as Westside Church Vacation Bible School, and the Korean Presbyterian Church Central Washington's Children’s Ministry team. She has high hopes of one day becoming a teacher and foster parent. Jacqueline is the fourth of a six-member family. Her siblings are Carolina Cousins, Rosy Zepeda and Cesar Florian. Growing up, her sisters were huge role models; Jacqueline credits them and her parents for her ambition and motivation to reach her goals. Besides being incredibly passionate about children's education, Jacqueline also takes interest in music, hiking, and serving her community. She has been a part of multiple bands; she plays the flute, bass, trombone, and trumpet. Jacqueline is excited to serve her new community in Pullman as a member of the YMCA. She has high hopes for her time as a WSU student and employee of the “Y”.
