Jordan Dickson, Special Olympics Program Coordinator
Jordan is an import all the way from Downunder (Australia)! Dragged across the Pacific by his wonderful wife to the hamlet of Pullman, he is a displaced surfer looking for waves amongst the wheat fields! Professionally, Jordan brings experience in promoting active, healthy and enriched quality of lives for people with disability, with 5+ years working in community services. Jordan joined the Y team as a volunteer for Special Olympics in 2015 and quickly bonded with the awesome athletes in the community. He never looks back on his former days an a Environmental Scientist, finding the community aspect of lifestyle support much more fulfilling. When he is not eating Vegemite on toast, he can usually be found playing basketball (not cricket), exploring the sights of the state of Washington, or if its winter, snowboarding nearby mountains. Jordan sees Special Olympics as a doorway for access for those in the community who need a little assistance to discover and learn elements that they might like to include in their everyday life. He's always keen for a game of any sport and is stoked to see people he has coached out enjoying and practicing in their community. If you hear a "fair dinkum" Australian accent when you are around the Y! It's probably Jordan!
