Alison Poteracke, Interim Director of Programs

Alison Poteracke grew up in Petaluma, California and recently moved to Pullman to pursue a masters degree in Jazz Composition. Alison has always used her musical background to educate kids -- assistant teaching after school music programs, aiding youth orchestras, and designing a program titled Music for Social Change. The Music for Social Change program started originally with the Boys and Girls Club where she has worked the past two years as a program coordinator and director. The program is designed to teach kids about music composition, the importance of music to culture, and the purpose of music being a voice for social activism. Alison plans to continue her studies in Jazz Composition and Multi-Cultural Studies in order to positively influence her community.
